1. Sore Throat

You’ve got a sore throat so it must be strep, right? Chances are you’re wrong. About 15 million people a year go to the doc with sore throats and 70 percent of them are given the antibiotics they beg for. Big mistake! Only 20 percent of the people have Streptococcus—a bacterial infection that can be treated with antibiotics. 

The rest? They have a virus; so antibiotics are no use, and mistakenly taking them increases antibiotic resistance. So make SURE it’s strep BEFORE you take antibiotics.
