5. Use a Peak Flow Meter

Your child is looking pale and complaining of fatigue and chest tightness. These are potential signs of a coming asthma attack. Your first step: Test your child’s peak flow rate to see how well air is circulating through his or her lungs. The device may resemble a scientist’s lab tool, but it’s simple to use. Watch this video to learn how it’s used – for both adults and children.
