8. Ask for Help

RA flares can be debilitating. When you’re struck with one, don’t try to push through it on your own--ask family or friends for help instead.   Whether you need a ride to the doctor’s or a second cook in the kitchen, get your loved ones to pitch in. Sometimes a brief rest is all you need for pain relief. 

And a helping hand can help prevent flares, too. If you feel fatigued, take a break from your tasks and call up a friend. If you push yourself too much, it’s likely you’ll end up in pain sooner rather than later.
