Transcript:
Good news for all you choc-aholics: Eating chocolate doesn't cause pimples. Dermatologists agree that acne is NOT caused by any specific food, and YES, this includes French fries, potato chips, candy, and soda! Acne is caused by a buildup of dead skin cells within the pore, an excess of skin oil, and a proliferation of acne-causing bacteria. And NONE of these factors are triggered by the foods we eat. Greasy foods, while not great for your health, won't cause oily skin or produce pimples. Hormonal changes within the body have the GREATEST impact on oil production. Oily skin can be hereditary—if your parents have oily skin, you'll probably have it too. So go ahead, and enjoy that piece of chocolate or order of fries—in moderation, of course. Your SKIN will be no worse for it the next day, but your WAISTLINE is another story!
